I've been drawing since I was a child but I got very in my own head about my own skills and if I was doing "good" work and comparing myself to my illustrator peers. This led to overwork and burnout as I took on work as a freelance animator. For a long time I had quit drawing beccause I associated it with misery and judgement.But now I'm back to drawing! I remembered it was a good outlet, and that I used to draw purely for the joy of drawing. Comparing myself to my peers felt terrible. I focused on the things I didn't know and couldn't do, but that didn't lead to me collaborating and improving. So now, even though I do commission work, I want to focus on bringing myself joy, expressing my emotions, and improving at my own pace for the sake of myself and only myself.
My art may not be perfect, but hopefully you find something you enjoy! Or at the very least it inspires you to create something that you actually do like.
